About the Workshop

This workshop provides a practical overview of the UAE employment law landscape, covering the  key legal, labour, and immigration considerations that employers and investors need to navigate when operating in the UAE. Participants will gain insights into visa requirements and workforce planning considerations when establishing a business, as well as the recruitment of expatriate employees and UAE nationals. The session will also explore visa categories, work permits, and key employment obligations, including probation periods, Wage Protection System (WPS) requirements, employee benefits and pensions, performance management, grievance procedures, and the termination of employment.

  • The UAE employment law landscape and key legislative considerations.
  • Visa requirements and essential labour and immigration considerations for investors establishing a business in the UAE.
  • The recruitment of expatriate employees and UAE nationals.
  • UAE visa categories, work permits, and immigration processes.
  • Core employment requirements, including probation periods, Wage Protection System (WPS) requirements, employee benefits and pension obligations, performance management, grievance and disciplinary procedures, termination of employment and end-of-service considerations, and  the latest market trends.
